STAUF adhesives cover the two main bonding jobs — full-spread structural adhesive for parquet and solid boards, and joint adhesive for tongue-and-groove connections.

SMP 930 and Multilayer Hybrid: Full-Spread Bonding

Both SMP 930 and Multilayer Hybrid are one-component, elastic adhesives built to ISO 17178 for parquet flooring, but they're formulated differently. SMP 930 is a hard elastic SMP adhesive specifically confirmed for wide boards up to a 7:1 width-to-thickness ratio. Multilayer Hybrid trades some of that hardness for excellent spreadability and fast strength development, aimed at saving time on multi-layer parquet installations where quick handling and good ridging matter.

Cold Glue L: PVAC for Joint Bonding

STAUF Cold Glue L is a different type of product entirely — a solvent-free PVAC adhesive for tongue-and-groove bonding rather than full-spread installation. It cures quickly to a transparent layer after brief pressing, with good water resistance for jobs exposed to brief moisture or high humidity.

Common Questions About STAUF Adhesives

Should I choose SMP 930 or Multilayer Hybrid?
SMP 930 is specifically confirmed for wide boards up to a 7:1 ratio. Multilayer Hybrid prioritises fast spreading and quick strength development — both are suited to full-spread parquet bonding.

Is Cold Glue L a substitute for a full-spread adhesive?
No — it's built for tongue-and-groove joint bonding only, not for bonding the whole floor to the subfloor.

Do I need a separate primer before using these adhesives?
On absorbent or moisture-affected subfloors, a dedicated primer such as STAUF's VPU 155 S may be needed first — check your subfloor's condition before applying any of these adhesives directly.
